The Western diplomat said the council might take up a resolution or a non-binding statement that would reaffirm existing sanctions.I'll just leave it at that for my commentary on the North Korean missile launch response.

You're such a predictable hawk. I suppose you'd like to up the ante with a binding resolution condemning the action. What happens then if N. Korea counters with a strongly-worded statement? Have you even considered the human cost?
Hell, it'd would have been a positive if the Western diplomat had committed to actually taking up the resolution or non-binding statement (rather letting us know that they might). Or, even better, that they absolutely positively would pass a non-binding statement reaffirming what they already said.
The utter and complete emptiness of the statement is what really impressed me. Or is that depressed me....
Combine that with David Axelrod's statement that firing the missile would be a "terribly bad mistake" for North Korea because they would continue to be rejected by the "community of nations" and we're looking like real bullies....
