Oh, he's a douchebag allright. And yes, all words are made up. But he's correct that "African-American" is a very poor way to describe a race. Your race doesn't change if you move from Angola to Jamaica to New York, but you will become "African-American". It's a bad term that leads to all sort of confusion (see last paragraphs of the above post).
